About the Role
We are advertising a Laboratory Operations Technician position within the lab of Dr Emma Chambers, in the Centre for Immunobiology and Infection at the Blizard Institute, Queen Mary University of London. To support the research evaluating the impact of menopause on mononuclear phagocyte biology.
About You
You are expected to have a relevant BSc in biological or related science. Additionally, you should have knowledge and experience of working with and isolating human peripheral blood mononuclear cells (PBMCs). Experience in phlebotomy, along with immunohistochemistry of human tissue samples, flow cytometry and managing day to day lab duties. Experience of working to deadlines, analysing and processing data and waste management procedures.
About the School/Department/Institute/Project
The Blizard Institute was established in 2003, one of six Institutes within the Faculty of Medicine and Dentistry, QMUL. The Institute comprises approximately 350 staff based in four academic Centres and one Public Engagement Centre and supports a combined total of c750 postgraduate research and taught students. The Institute aims to deliver excellence in all aspects of research, teaching and clinical service.
