Job description:
We are seeking an experienced Global Opportunities specialist to lead our established and very capable international student exchanges team, and contribute to the international strategy of an established World Top 100 university. Sheffield has a reputation for providing outstanding student experiences and support and we’re continually building the range of international partnerships and opportunities available to students, in response to rising levels of interest in such global study and work experiences.
We’re in a good place, so this is an exciting opportunity for an experienced HE global opportunities specialist with great people management skills to play a key role in maintaining and continuing to enhance our Global Opportunities operations and services. You will lead the management of the university’s portfolio of international exchange partnership agreements (Turing & Erasmus+), and have direct input to the strategic direction for the University’s exchanges scheme and summer schools.
We therefore seek a talented and forward-thinking manager to build on the excellent relationships and activity already in place, and provide ongoing leadership for our brilliant global opportunities team colleagues.
As a member of the wider Careers & Employability and Student & Academic Services management teams you will also work closely with teams and colleagues across the University to promote and facilitate the full range of exceptional student opportunities. As well as being a great team manager, we’re looking for excellent communication and networking skills, and a proven ability to positively influence people both within the university and in partner institutions all over the world. We’d like to hear about your current track record in delivering successful global opportunities strategies and partnership development, and in return we’ll provide the environment for you to continue to develop your professional skills and impact.
This post is ideal for someone who is seeking to extend their leadership abilities and who has the ability to both initiate growth and drive operational enhancements. Occasional international travel will be a requirement of this role.
