Birmingham Engineering has a strong global reputation and maintains extensive international research collaborations.

In line with these developments, we seek to appoint a highly research-active academic in structural engineering to join the Department of Civil Engineering. The School provides a supportive environment for developing independent research programmes and securing competitive research funding.

For this recruitment, we are particularly interested in candidates who demonstrate ambition, innovation and leadership, and who undertake research and teaching in structural engineering with an emphasis on advanced structural design, computational modelling, Innovative construction materials, Modern methods of construction, structural health monitoring, digital twins and artificial intelligence.
