About the role
Are you an experienced programme management professional who thrives on delivering complex portfolios and driving meaningful change? Do you enjoy leading multidisciplinary teams, influencing strategic outcomes and working across large-scale transformation initiatives? If so, we would love to hear from you.
We are seeking a Senior Programme Manager to join Imperial’s Transformation Portfolio Team, supporting the Great Environment Transformation Portfolio in your first assignment. This strategic portfolio brings together activity across South Kensington and White City campuses, enabling Imperial to grow its academic endeavour through world-leading campus infrastructure. Property creates the spaces people see. Transformation makes those spaces work - connecting people, processes, technology and ways of working to bring them to life. Together, we turn investment in our physical environment into the conditions for academic growth, innovation and impact.
What you would be doing
This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to a major strategic portfolio and help shape the future environment of a world-leading university.
What we are looking for
As Senior Programme Manager, you will play a leading role in delivering the South Kensington redevelopment programme and interdependent projects across the portfolio, while providing leadership to the Portfolio Team. You will provide strategic oversight across multiple workstreams, ensuring objectives, timelines, and quality standards are achieved while aligning delivery with institutional priorities. Using structured programme and project management approaches, you will maintain effective governance, manage risks and dependencies, and drive successful outcomes across a broad range of initiatives.
Working closely with senior academic and professional service leaders, and project teams, you will lead planning and delivery activity across the portfolio, manage resource alignment, and provide clear, insightful reporting to support effective decision-making at senior levels. You will also drive stakeholder engagement, champion continuous improvement and support the realisation of programme benefits and long-term organisational impact.
We are looking for someone with significant programme management experience, strong leadership and communication skills, and the ability to build effective relationships across a wide range of teams and disciplines. You will be comfortable operating strategically while maintaining oversight of delivery detail, with experience leading large-scale change initiatives and influencing across multiple levels of an organisation.
A recognised qualification in project and/or programme management such as MSP/APM/PRINCE2 and experience delivering programmes within complex environments are essential.
