ZJUI invites highly qualified candidates for open-rank faculty position at any level or postdoctoral researcher in Electrical and Electronic Engineering.

ZJUI conducts teaching and multidisciplinary research in broad program themes of Engineering Sciences for Computing and Data Science, Intelligent Systems and Materials, Advanced Electronics and Electrical Engineering, and beyond. Applicants are welcome and encouraged from relevant engineering and science disciplines: Electronics and Electrical Engineering, including but not limited to Power Systems and Integrated Energy, Power Electronics, Circuits, Electromagnetics, Optics and Remote Sensing, Microelectronics and Photonics, Nanotechnology, and AI and Applications in Electrical and Electronic Engineering; Computer Science and Technology, including but not limited to Artificial Intelligence, Computer Vision, Computer Graphics, Embodied Intelligence, Human-Computer Interaction. VisualAnalytics, Data Mining. Computing Systems Hardware and Software, Networking and Distributed Computing, Theory and algorithms; Mechanical Engineering, including but not limited to Advanced Manufacturing, Solid Mechanics and Materials Design, Robotics, Control, Artificial Intelligence & Machine Learning for Mechanical Engineering Applications; The interdisciplinary field of engineering, including but not limited to Intelligent Transportation, Low-altitude Economy, AI+transportation. Qualified candidates will be given priority recommendation for national talent programs.

The successful candidate will initiate and lead collaborative research and perform academic and professional service duties associated with the ZJU-UIUC Institute. They will be leaders for teaching and research innovation, providing students with an interactive and outstandng engineering education.

• Qiushi Chair Professor

Requirements: Applicants should be internationally recognized scholars who have achieved systematic and original academic accomplishments, made significant contributions to their fields, and demonstrated broad international academic influence.

• Qiushi Distinguished Scholar

Requirements: Positions include Qiushi Distinguished Professor, etc. Applicants should hold a full professorship (or equivalent) at a reputable university, possess broad influence within their academic community, demonstrate the ability to lead the discipline to or beyond international advanced levels, and exhibit strong teamwork and organizational skills. 

• Tenured Professor /Tenured Associate Professor

Requirements: Applicants should currently hold tenured faculty positions at reputable universities worldwide.

Tenured Professor: Should have achieved internationally recognized academic accomplishments, possess considerable international reputation and influence, and have an excellent record in teaching, research, and talent cultivation, equivalent to a tenured professor at a leading global university. 

Tenured Associate Professor: Should have produced original and significant academic work, enjoy certain international recognition and influence, and have a strong record in teaching, research, and talent cultivation, equivalent to a tenured associate professor at a leading global university.

• Tenure-track Assistant Professor

Requirements: Applicants should hold a doctorate degree from a leading university. They should be outstanding talents in their field with the potential to become academic leaders and capable of independently developing a research direction aligned with disciplinary development. 

• Postdoctoral Researcher

Requirements: Applicants should have obtained a doctoral degree in recent years, with strong academic integrity and overall excellence. They should demonstrate good potential for academic development and an international outlook, and be able to work full-time at ZJU. Eligible outstanding candidates may apply for the Qiushi Postdoctoral Fellowship Program. 

Compensation and benefits: Salary and research start-up support will be commensurate with qualifications and competitive with international norms, including housing benefits.
