Research Fellow (0.5 FTE)

The London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine (LSHTM) is one of the world’s leading public health universities. Applications are invited for a Research Fellow to work on a nested study of mental health outcomes led by Dr. Neisha Sundaram and funded by the National Institute of Health Research within a randomised controlled trial of the ‘Learning Together for Mental Health’ intervention across English secondary schools. The successful candidate will lead the study’s process evaluation, taking ownership of collecting and analysing qualitative research data within school environments and support trial management.

The post-holder must have a postgraduate degree in a relevant area such as social science or public health and relevant experience in qualitive data collection and analysis, proven ability to work independently as well as collaboratively as a part of a team, evidence of excellent interpersonal skills and organisation skills, and strong understand and commitment to research involving evaluation, qualitative research and school-based public health interventions. The post is part-time 17.50 hours per week, 0.5 FTE and fixed-term until 31^st December 2029. The post is funded by the NIHR and is available from 01 September 2026. 

The salary will be on the LSHTM salary scale, Grade 6 in the range £45,728- £51,872 per annum (inclusive of London Weighting). The post will be subject to the LSHTM terms and conditions of service. Annual leave entitlement is 30 working days per year, pro rata for part time staff. In addition to this there are discretionary “Wellbeing Days”. Membership of the Pension Scheme is available. The post is based in London at LSHTM.
