About the role
The REF Project Manager is a key part of the central REF team. They lead on project management and preparations for the REF2029 submission. They will use experience and judgement to analyse data, make recommendations, draft and edit components of the REF submission. The postholder will work with ICT and the Library to support the central Head of REF and Faculty REF Managers in database management, including for audit purposes. Excellent project management and communication skills are crucial to this role to ensure that a high-quality submission is delivered within the tight timeframe of the REF.
What you would be doing
As REF Project Manager you will act as a subject matter expert on REF policies and procedures and develop University-wide policies and procedures relating to REF2029, as well as managing the REF-related element of the annual HESA staff return. You will lead the analysis of REF-related data, and design and oversee development of reports and data dashboards, working with colleagues across the University. You will lead the development of institutional-level narrative statements, working closely with colleagues to support the development of disciplinary level evidence statements, ensuring consistency of approach. You will take an active role in the governance, committees and working groups associated with REF2029.
