An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Senior Delivery Manager to join us on a 3-year fixed term contract working on the University’s Halo CRM programme. Halo will be used not only by central functions but also within departments and colleges, creating a true Single Version of the Truth and a 360-degree view of our communities - students, visitors, alumni, research collaborations and elements of the professional staff lifecycle.

What We Offer

This post is Grade 9: £56,623 - £71,218 per annum.

Full time preferred.  Part-time considered (minimum of 80% / 4 days a week).

The postholder will be required to work on-site in Oxford for a minimum of 2 days per week.

About the Role

The role of Senior Delivery Manager is to ensure the successful delivery of complex, high-risk products and services, either through defined project work or as part of the continuous improvement approach. Senior Delivery Managers have wide experience across a range of products and services, throughout the entire product life cycle, and have responsibility and accountability as the main point of escalation.

The postholder will organise the team ensuring they are motivated, collaborative and efficient. They will identify obstacles to delivery and work with the team to overcome them, escalating where necessary.  The postholder will support the Platform Manager and Product Owners in the forward planning of resource requirements.  They will define and manage delivery plans, milestones, dependencies, risks, and ensure delivery is aligned to quality standards.

The postholder will work closely with other programme roles including University stakeholders, delivery managers for other Halo workstreams, University technical teams and implementation partners.

About You

You will have:

  • Proven experience as an Agile Delivery Manager or similar within a digital services or product management context; Ideally minimum of 5 years of experience working in Agile teams, ideally with at least 2 years as a Scrum Master, Product Owner, or similar role.
  • Experience of managing the Software Development Lifecycle, ideally in a Continuous Improvement / DevOps setting as well as experience working with low code / no code platforms.  Ideally Dynamics CRM, Azure hosting and Azure DevOps.
  • In depth understanding of Agile methodologies, including Scrum and Kanban and demonstrable experience of employing them.
  • Experience of the configuration and use of tools, such as Azure DevOps, for the management of backlogs etc.
  • Certification or evidence of professional development in Agile methodologies.
  • Demonstrable ability to mentor, coach, facilitate and guide teams and less experienced delivery managers in the discipline of continual service improvement and Agile delivery.
  • Experience of estimating, budget setting, financial forecasting and tracking, resource management and scheduling in complex environments.
  • Previous experience of managing and motivating a team, including both business and technical staff, and of working effectively as part of a wider, multi-disciplinary team.
  • Excellent communication, influencing and negotiation skills, including the presentation of complex ideas to audiences both technical and non-technical, and the production of accurate written documentation.
