The university is keen to build on its strengths to further enhance the teaching and research culture and is looking for candidates who share similar knowledge and research exchange ambitions and are keen to make a notable contribution. By joining our passionate and active team, the candidates can expect excellent support in their teaching, research, knowledge exchange and scholarly activity.
We are seeking clinicians, healthcare professionals and academics with an interest in medical education to join the Phase 1 Undergraduate Medicine team for a focused three month period of curriculum and assessment development.
The successful applicants will contribute to the development of high-quality Single Best Answer (SBA) assessment items and formative learning resources for students in Phase 1 of the MB ChB programme.
This is a defined academic development project and would particularly suit individuals who have clinical or academic healthcare expertise and an interest in translating that expertise into effective undergraduate medical education resources.
We recognise that individuals with the expertise we are seeking may wish to undertake this work alongside existing clinical, academic or professional commitments.
We are therefore deliberately offering this opportunity on a fractional basis, with multiple appointments available for a fixed period of three months.
There is up to 1.2 FTE of resource available in total, and we welcome applications from individuals interested in different fractions of this allocation. Applicants should indicate the FTE or number of days per week they would be interested in undertaking.
The closing date for applications is 1:00pm Friday 11th September 2026 and it is anticipated that interviews will be held on the 23rd & 24th September 2026.
Please note: if successful, any offer is subject to standard checks, including qualifications, eligibility to work in the UK on a permanent basis and DBS (if applicable)
