Stipendiary Research Fellowship Competition for October 2027 start
The Governing Body of Magdalene College expects to elect two stipendiary (Junior) Research Fellows with tenure for three years from 1 October 2027.
will be in one of the following subject areas:
Biology, Biochemistry, Medical Sciences, Psychology.
be in one of the following subject areas:
History, History of Art, Classics.
The candidates will be expected to present original research. Details can be found in the further particulars document. Please note that candidates who applied in the 2025-26 round are not eligible for this competition.
Applications are invited from graduates from any university. This is an early career appointment. Candidates must be either graduate students close to completion of their research and writing leading to a PhD, or post-doctoral researchers who have recently been awarded their PhD degree.
The current gross stipend (2026-27) for a Lumley and Nevile Research Fellow is 31,180 p.a. The (Junior) Research Fellows may take advantage of single accommodation in College and will receive dining privileges. There is no payment in lieu of accommodation or meals not taken.
