Are you a proactive and customer-focused supervisor who enjoys leading a team and creating safe, welcoming, and well-managed spaces for students, staff and visitors?

As Facilities Supervisor, you will lead a small team delivering essential facilities services across the Templeman Library and surrounding buildings. Acting as a key link between building users and Campus Services teams, you will help ensure some of the University’s highest-profile spaces operate smoothly and provide an excellent customer experience. You’ll coordinate day-to-day activities, respond to facilities issues, and develop your team, while continually looking for opportunities to improve the services we provide.

As Facilities Supervisor you can expect to be involved in:

  • Line managing and providing effective supervision, coordination and planning for the Facilities Management Coordinators to ensure a range of facilities services are covered throughout core and extended hours, seven days a week.
  • Ensuring the customer experience is at the heart of the services provided by the team. Developing and upskilling the staff and seeking to continually improve the facilities services.
  • Helping to ensure all areas of the library and surrounding buildings are safe, clean, accessible, operational, and user-friendly. Monitoring feedback, managing faults and issues and escalating as needed.
  • Monitoring outstanding facilities requests, analysing information, and producing reports to highlight uncompleted work.

What will you bring to the role?

  • A full UK driving licence (you will be required to drive university vehicles)
  • The ability to suggest and deliver improvements including developing, interpreting and adapting working procedures.
  • Strong ability to support and develop staff.
  • Clear customer focus and commitment to delivering a high-quality service and improving the student experience.
  • Highly organised with the ability to prioritise work and deliver to deadlines in a pressured environment.

What we can offer in return:

As a member of our team, you can expect a friendly, open and collaborative working environment and support in your development and wellbeing. You'll enjoy a range of great staff benefits including:

  • 43 days' leave per year (personal leave, bank holidays and additional days allocated for the Christmas period, pro rata for part-time staff)
  • Excellent pension scheme with generous employer contributions
  • Corporate employee-funded healthcare plan, in partnership with Benenden Health
