About the Role
The post-holder will have responsibility for developing Visium spatial transcriptomics and multiplexed immunohistochemistry in the Lockley group to unravel the clonal evolution of resistance in high grade serous ovarian cancer. They will lead computational aspects of our work, strengthening our informatics expertise and working collaboratively with team members to develop new therapeutic approaches to target resistance evolution.
About You
You will have a PhD, or be nearing completion of one, in biology, bioinformatics, computational biology, genomics, or a relevant field, or demonstrate equivalent research experience and qualifications. Experience in both wet-lab and dry-lab research is beneficial. You must have expertise in analysis of large-scale genomic data and confidence in R is essential. You will develop new experimental techniques and analysis pipelines. You should be confident to plan, deliver and critique your own work and to supervise students/junior team members. You will be expected to work effectively within an extended team and be willing to contribute to the life of the institute more broadly.

The Barts Cancer Institute (BCI) is a Cancer Research UK Centre of Excellence whose work aims to transform the lives of those with and at risk of cancer through innovative research in the laboratory, in patients and in populations. It is one of six institutes within The Faculty of Medicine and Dentistry (FMD) BCI is internationally renowned in many areas of cancer research and it combines ground-breaking basic research with the expertise of clinicians and clinician scientists from the Centre for Experimental Cancer Medicine and the Barts NHS Trust to achieve improvements in cancer patient care. BCI is also a partner in the CRUK City of London Major Centre (together with UCL, Kings and the Francis Crick Institute) which is a Centre of Excellence in Biotherapeutics.
