The London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine (LSHTM) is one of the world’s leading public health universities. We are seeking an experienced and proactive team member who will be responsible for providing efficient administrative, logistical and financial support for a portfolio of research projects with multiple international collaborators based in Africa, Australasia, and Europe.
The post-holder will develop a strong understanding of funder terms and conditions, provide sound advice, and ensure compliance with these requirements and with LSHTM policies and procedures. Research project funders include, EDCTP and the Gates Foundation.
The post-holder will join an enthusiastic and highly productive team who work on projects in the research areas of Neglected Tropical Diseases, Sexually Transmitted Infections, Group A Streptococcus, Respiratory Virus & Emerging Infections, and UK Infectious Disease Trials. The post-holder will be line managed by the Project Manager, and will also report to Professor Michael Marks, lead Principal Investigator of the research project portfolio.
The successful candidate will have a Higher education to degree level or equivalent or substantial relevant experience, relevant experience in managing and providing support to EC/EDCTP-funded research projects including a familiarity with funder terminology, significant experience of providing administrative/financial support for research projects. The post is part-time 28 hours per week, 0.8 FTE, in the first instance, with potential to increase to full-time, 35 hours per week, 1.0 FTE, by mutual agreement. The post is fixed term until 31 March 2028 (with the likelihood of extension) and funded by the EDCTP and the Gates Foundation. The post is available from 01 October 2026.
The salary will be on the LSHTM salary scale, Grade 5 scale in the range £39,984 - £45,728 per annum pro rata (inclusive of London Weighting). The post will be subject to the LSHTM terms and conditions of service. Annual leave entitlement is 30 working days per year, pro rata for part time staff. In addition to this there are discretionary “Wellbeing Days”. Membership of the Pension Scheme is available. The post is based in London at LSHTM.
