Faculty Position (Assistant Professor) in�Applied Linguistics / Experimental Linguistics/ Academic Writing�is effective from January 2027 or until the position is filled�
Position Summary
KIMEP University�College of Human Sciences and Education�invites applications for�a faculty position (Assistant Professor). This is a full-time academic appointment beginning in January 2027. Responsibilities include teaching, research, scholarly activities, and service. The new faculty member will support the college's undergraduate and graduate programs, particularly our BA in Cognitive Sciences and Applied AI, as well as the BA and MA in TESOL programs. All CHSE faculty are also expected to teach Academic English and writing courses.
We seek talented instructors and innovative scholars with expertise in the following areas: Academic Writing, Psycholinguistics, Experimental Linguistics, Literacy Development, Clinical Bilingualism, etc.�
Minimum Qualifications:
Expertise is desired in the following areas: Applied Linguistics and other relevant areas.�
For all instructors, experience with course design and teaching is strongly desired. Familiarity with CIS countries or similar international experience is welcome.
ABD�s will be considered who meet the position qualifications and include in their application materials a letter from the dissertation chair confirming the defense date prior to the position�s start date.�

Compensation
Rank and salary are competitive and commensurate with experience and qualifications. After-tax compensation compares favorably with net salaries in Western countries.
Limited on-campus housing is available to rent, or alternatively, help is available in finding off-campus housing. In addition to salary, a benefit package includes basic healthcare insurance, reduced tuition rates for KIMEP courses, and a relocation allowance subsidy for international faculty. New faculty members receive a reduced teaching schedule during the first semester. Summer paid teaching is typically available.
The salary of international faculty will be subject to tax deductions (10% Personal Income tax in general), as required by the Law of Kazakhstan.�
