Georgetown University in Qatar (GU-Q) invites applications for one (1) open-rank teaching faculty position in Instructional French.
The successful candidate will have native or near-native proficiency in French, an advanced command of English, and an M.A. or Ph.D. in applied linguistics, FLE (Teaching French as a Foreign Language), SLA (Second Language Acquisition), or a related field, with expertise in French language and linguistics, as well as pedagogy.
The successful candidate will demonstrate excellence in teaching French at all levels. They will also have a record of effective instruction in skill-based courses (e.g., Academic Writing) and in leading co-curricular and experiential learning activities that support French language development. Familiarity with the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR) and its proficiency benchmarks would be an advantage.
