Background

The Department of Interprofessional Healthcare, within the School of Health and Medical Sciences at City St George’s, University of London, delivers innovative postgraduate programmes in advanced, enhanced, and interprofessional practice. The department collaborates closely with NHS Trusts and healthcare partners, integrating theory, research, and real-world clinical experience. This role supports the School’s mission to advance education, research, and practice that improve health outcomes and prepare practitioners to lead and innovate across healthcare systems.

Responsibilities

The Lecturer will design, deliver, and assess high-quality education in interprofessional and advancing practice at postgraduate level. Responsibilities include curriculum development, student supervision, and academic leadership. The postholder will integrate research and professional practice into teaching, contribute to quality assurance and accreditation processes, and foster innovation in education. Engagement with professional networks, support for student wellbeing, and contribution to departmental administration and enterprise activities are also integral to the role.

Person Specification

The successful candidate will hold relevant professional registration (HCPC, NMC, or GMC) and a postgraduate qualification in a healthcare-related field, with teaching experience in higher education. They will demonstrate expertise in advancing and/or interprofessional practice, excellent communication and teamwork skills, and commitment to equality, diversity, and professional development. A teaching qualification or willingness to achieve one is essen tial; a PhD and evidence of scholarly or research activity are desirable.
