Job Description

The post holder will support the delivery and development of Hospitality and Tourism programmes and work closely with Programme Leaders and teaching staff to maintain high academic and quality standards.

Duties:

  • Deliver teaching and assessment across HNC/HND, undergraduate and postgraduate programmes.
  • Provide tutorials and academic support to students.
  • Liaise with Programme Leaders and Internal Verifiers.
  • Prepare and assess coursework and other student work.
  • Support curriculum development and programme enhancement.
  • Supervise individual and group projects.
  • Maintain accurate academic and assessment records.
  • Support compliance with QAA and awarding body requirements.
  • Attend departmental meetings and meetings with external examiners.
Qualifications Required
  • UK Bachelors and Masters degrees in Hospitality & Tourism Management, or Business & Management with substantial Hospitality & Tourism teaching experience.
  • Proven full-time teaching experience across Levels 4, 5, 6 and 7.
  • Experience teaching HNC/HND and degree-level programmes.
  • Experience within UK higher education.
  • Experience in quality assurance and RQF internal verification.
  • Good knowledge of the UK Quality Code and academic quality requirements.
  • Experience working with awarding bodies and/or university validating partners.
  • PREFERENCE WILL BE GIVEN TO BILINGUAL SPEAKERS OF ENGLISH/RUMANIAN 
The Candidate

Essential:

  • Strong subject knowledge in Hospitality and Tourism.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Strong student engagement and support skills.
  • Good organisational and time-management skills.
  • Ability to manage academic responsibilities effectively.
  • Good understanding of current Hospitality and Tourism practices.
  • Ability to work effectively with academic teams.

Desirable:

  • PhD or equivalent qualification.
  • Recognised teaching qualification.
  • Relevant professional membership.
  • Current industry experience in Hospitality and Tourism.
  • Experience with programme development and enhancement.
  • Experience working with Pearson/BTEC programmes.
