Job description

Full-time (36 hours per week), Fixed Term to 16/04/2027 to cover maternity leave

This role is not eligible for Skilled Worker visa sponsorship. The successful candidate(s) will have to ensure that they have the right to work in the UK or be able to secure this through another means without the sponsorship of the University. Further information about sponsorship is available on the UK Visas and Immigration Website.

The role is within the Receipts Team, which is part of the University’s Transactional Team within the Finance Directorate. The role is responsible for the posting of the University’s payments and income. Tasks include:

  • Payment reconciliation
  • Monitoring shared email boxes
  • Allocating payments received to correct locations
  • Dealing with the emailed queries or forwarding to relevant department
  • Preparing refunds
  • Taking telephone payments from students
  • Assisting with queries

You will have: 

  • Good communication skills (verbal and written)
  • Accuracy
  • Ability to communicate at different levels
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
  • Understanding of basic accounting
  • Good Microsoft Excel knowledge
  • Ability to quickly learn systems
  • Highly motivated, organised and efficient
  • Self-starter
  • Good team player
  • Good GCSEs or equivalent, including Maths & English
