About the Role

Do you want to join a dynamic and highly productive team researching cardiovascular care within the School of Nursing & Midwifery? If so this could be the opportunity you are looking for. Within this post you will be contributing to an exciting programme of research in heart failure care, with the opportunity to enhance your skill set and develop you CV. The successful candidate will be an active member of the HEart faiLure carer support Programme (HELP) research team, assisting in the planning and delivery of research activity so that the overall research objectives of the project are met. This project is funded by the British Heart Foundation and will be conducted across 3 centres in the United Kingdom.

It will involve assessing the implementation and impact of HELP, which is a nurse-led, co-designed programme of educational and psychologcial support for carers of patients with heart failure. The post holder will be responsible for daily project delivery and management, spanning participant recruitment; mixed-method data collection and storage; routine administrative duties; and regular communication with the multi-disciplinary project team. You will be working across hospital and university settings and require excellent communication and co-ordination skills. Your team invest in regular meetings, a supportive culture and clear guidance to enable the achievement of ambitious research outputs.

About the Person

The successful candidate must have, and your application should clearly demonstrate that you meet the following essential criteria:

  • Hold a Degree in health related subject relevant to research activity.
  • Have practical experience of applying specialist skills and techniques required for the role.
  • Have sufficient breadth or depth of specialist knowledge in the discipline and/or of research methods and techniques.
  • Have experience of successful project delivery, administration, and management

Fixed-term contract (15 months or until 30 November 2027, whichever is soonest). Fixed term contract posts are available for the stated period in the first instance but in particular circumstances may be renewed or made permanent subject to availability of funding.
