Abertay is a modern university with a global outlook, rooted in its local and national communities. We have made our mark with high quality, well-directed teaching and research, and a stimulating and enriching experience for our students.
Research Innovation and Enterprise Support Office (RIES)
You will join a small, professional team within the Research Innovation and Enterprise Support (RIES) Office, providing integrated support across the full research and knowledge exchange funding lifecycle. The team delivers expert advice, guidance and operational support for the University's research and knowledge exchange portfolio, working closely with academic staff, senior leadership and professional services to support funding success, compliance requirements and institutional performance objectives.
The RIES Office is co-located with the Graduate School and is overseen by the Vice-Principal (Research and Innovation). Together, these teams play a central role in fostering a positive research culture, supporting postgraduate researchers, and delivering the University's Research and Knowledge Exchange Strategy (R-LINCS) and wider research ambitions.
The University now seeks to appoint two fixed-term Research Funding and Awards Specialists Grade 7.
Reporting to the Head of Research Innovation and Enterprise Support (RIES), you will play a key role in supporting the University's research and knowledge exchange activities across the full funding lifecycle. Working closely with academic and professional services colleagues, you will provide expert advice and guidance on the development, submission and management of externally funded projects, helping to maximise funding success and ensure compliance with funder and institutional requirements.
The role encompasses both pre-award and post-award responsibilities, including supporting funding applications, costing and pricing, funder compliance, award acceptance, project management, financial monitoring, reporting and contractual matters. You will work collaboratively with researchers, senior academic leaders and professional services teams to deliver an efficient and high-quality support service in line with the University's Research and Knowledge Exchange Strategy (R-LINCS).
You will also contribute to the continuous development of research support services, processes and systems, helping to foster a positive research culture and enabling the successful delivery of the University's research and knowledge exchange ambitions.
While this role supports both pre-award and post-award activities, we welcome applications from candidates with experience in either area. If you have expertise in one aspect of research support and are interested in developing your knowledge of the other, we encourage you to apply.
If you believe you have the skills and experience for this exciting and challenging role, please submit your application through our online recruitment system.
Please note that we will only accept applications through our online recruitment system.
