The University of Lincoln Digital Technologies department is seeking a pro-active and motivated individual to join its Digital Client Devices team. At the University of Lincoln, our ambition for growth is significant, and ensuring our students and teaching colleagues have a first-class environment for learning is fundamental to this. Our technology must enhance teaching and learning, and this role is key to ensuring this.

For the Digital Client Devices Analyst role, you will contribute to the delivery and ongoing technical support for all aspects of client devices technologies on Windows, Apple, and Android eco-systems and on all form-factors of device. Responsibilities will include the delivery and management of operating systems, applications, and policies, while maintaining and enhancing security compliance. You will evaluate and recommend new technologies and solutions that align with the University’s business objectives and improve operational efficiencies. The role will also include contributing to the definition of process and procedures for the deployment and management of technologies, working closely with the Digital Operations team for all stages in the asset management lifecycle.

You will ideally have experience of support in an IT environment, and a good working knowledge of the latest IT technologies is essential. You are also expected to have experience in some of the following areas and be able to work under your own initiative, to provide both pro-active and reactive customer service:

Desirable Knowledge and Skills

  • A logical approach to problem solving
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with a customer service focus
  • Windows and Apple operating system management
  • Microsoft Configuration Manager (SCCM)
  • Intune, Active Directory or Group Policy
  • Application packaging and deployment

This is a fantastic opportunity for those who want to make a genuine difference for our students and colleagues. You don’t need to meet all the criteria above to be considered, as you’ll be supported to develop the skills and knowledge needed to thrive in the role.

In support of our commitment to developing colleagues by providing opportunities for internal movement and promotion, applications for this opportunity will only be accepted from people who are currently employed by the University of Lincoln, our current students, and any currently engaged agency workers who have been with us for more than 12 weeks. We actively encourage applications from all colleagues across the University with the relevant skills and experience.

If you wish to have an informal discussion regarding this role, please contact Ashley Vickers, Digital Client Devices Manager, at avickers@lincoln.ac.uk.
