Assistant/Associate Professor in Accounting

Cambridge Judge Business School (CJBS) invites applications for a faculty position with the Accounting Group at the Assistant or Associate Professor level. 

Judge Business School is part of the University of Cambridge, giving faculty extensive opportunities to collaborate with researchers across the University. Cambridge also sits at the centre of "Silicon Fen", one of Europe's leading technology and innovation clusters, creating opportunities for research and engagement with entrepreneurs, start-ups, investors and established companies. 

The Accounting Group's research interests span financial and managerial accounting and related areas. Current areas include financial reporting and disclosure, auditing, corporate governance, disinformation, executive compensation and incentives, management control and performance measurement, capital markets, financial institutions, and sustainability and ESG reporting. We welcome outstanding candidates from all areas of accounting. 

The successful candidate will hold, or be close to completing, a PhD in Accounting or a related discipline. They will be expected to produce internationally excellent research published in leading international journals, contribute to teaching and supervision across the School's programmes, and take an active part in the intellectual life of the Accounting Group.

We value research that is both rigorous and consequential - work that advances the academic literature while also speaking to the questions facing standard setters, regulators, firms and investors. The School actively supports faculty in bringing their research to bear on policy and practice, and in bringing that engagement back into their teaching. 

Evidence of intellectual excellence is the primary criterion for appointment. Depending on career stage, this may take the form of publications in leading journals, high-quality working papers at an advanced stage of the review process, and a strong pipeline of ongoing research. For appointment at the Associate Professor level, candidates are expected to have an established record of internationally excellent publications together with a continuing pipeline of high-quality work. 

The start date is negotiable: the appointment can begin at any point between January and September 2027, to be agreed with the successful candidate. The School offers a competitive salary and benefits package.
