Co-Head of Classical & Contemporary Text (Academic Operation) Stage and Screen Permanent, 0.5 FTE Salary starting from £52,074 per annum (pro rata £26,037) The Royal Conservatoire of Scotland seeks an effective and inspirational leader, artist and educator to be the Co-Head of Classical & Contemporary Text. This role will involve:

• Direct line management of the MA/MFA CCT programme team, including part-time hourly paid and fee-based staff;

• Operational and Academic management including timetabling, budget and quality assurance processes;

• Shared strategic leadership for the programme with emphasis on director training.

You will Co-lead the strategic development of the MA/MFA Acting/Directing Classical and Contemporary Text programme with an emphasis on the directing pathway, taking account of current practice and professional innovations, current research, sector developments, colleagues’ specialist knowledge and the student voice.

The role will line manage the MA/MFA CCT programme team, including part-time hourly paid and fee-based staff and oversee Quality Assurance and Quality Enhancement processes for the programme including annual monitoring, engagement with external examiners, and programme re-validation when next undertaken. You will be both an experienced educator in a Conservatoire setting and have professional experience as a director or theatre-maker. You should have demonstrable experience of effective people management, operational management of complex timetables and effective budget management. You should have both a degree in a relevant field and a Postgraduate Certificate in Learning & Teaching Higher Education or Advance HE Fellowship, or a willingness to obtain within two years of appointment. You should also be able to demonstrate your in-depth knowledge of current and emerging practice in acting and directing with the ability to anticipate future developments in these disciplines.
