We are seeking an enthusiastic and creative Media Production Technician to join our Media Production team on a part-time basis. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the production of high-quality audio and visual media for teaching, learning, research, communications and high-profile University events.

What you will do

  • Capture high-quality audio and video content in studios, production facilities, campus spaces and external locations.
  • Edit and post-produce media content, including colour grading, audio mastering, motion graphics and animation.
  • Support the technical delivery of live events, including camera operation, vision mixing and streaming.
  • Produce graphics and animations for promotional, teaching and learning materials.
  • Support staff and students using Media Services’ editing, podcast and production facilities.
  • Develop and deliver training workshops and supporting materials for individuals and groups.

  • Work safely and professionally, contributing to a customer-focused and continuously improving service

About you

You will bring good knowledge of professional audio and visual media production, with practical experience in production and post-production workflows. You will be confident using cameras, lighting, audio capture, editing and mastering tools, and you will have the creativity to produce engaging, professional content for a wide range of audiences.

You should have an HND equivalent qualification in media production or a related discipline, or demonstrable professional skills and knowledge gained through relevant industry experience. Strong communication skills, excellent interpersonal skills, a high level of IT literacy and the ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team are essential.

Experience of live production, location work, motion graphics, immersive or 360° media production, and a showreel of previous work would be advantageous although not essential.

What you will get in return

  • A collaborative and supportive working environment within a busy professional media services team.
  • The opportunity to contribute directly to teaching, learning, research, events and University-wide activity.
  • Access to learning and development opportunities.
  • A generous pension scheme and employee health and wellbeing support.

  • Access to a range of local and national staff discounts and benefits.
