We are looking to recruit a Bar Assistant to work on a part-time basis during University term time within our student Bar/Café to ensure its smooth running, ensuring excellent presentation and cleanliness at all times.

You will ensure the highest possible standards of food and drink service are achieved. You will prepare drinks and light food to customers, process payment transactions, maintaining food safety records, be responsible for ensuring the Bar/Café is stocked and kept tidy as well as playing an important role in ensuring a friendly welcome to its users. 

The postholder will work 4 hours on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday from 7.30pm – 11.30pm. Cambridge’s academic year starts on 1 October, and term dates can be found here. Due to the sale of alcohol, applicants must be over 18 years old to comply with alcohol licencing laws. 

You will work to high standards, be of smart appearance, have previous experience in a customer facing role and have excellent communication and interpersonal skills. You will be confident when working independently at times and have the ability to show initiative. Previous experience working in a bar is desirable.
