Data & Project Manager

About the Role

You will be responsible for project management and data management activities for a portfolio of large, multi-centre research studies in the areas of prostate and breast cancer prevention which are accruing long-term follow-up through national registries and databases. You will coordinate and update research study approvals/amendments of submissions to ethics committees, local NHS (R&D) offices, and the Sponsor. As part of the role, you will further participate in the preparation of study reports, grant applications and publications.

About You

The successful candidate will have experience in drafting data management plans for research studies and of using the Integrated Research Application System (IRAS) for the submission of new applications, amendments etc. Most importantly, they will have experience in database management, including preparing data for statistical analyses and research reports.

About the Institute

The Wolfson Institute of Population Health (WIPH) is an exciting and dynamic environment, home to more than 450 staff, 100 PhD students and c500 postgraduate taught students. It harnesses expertise across a wide range of population-based research and education activities and aims to be an internationally recognised centre of excellence in population health, primary care and preventive medicine. The Institute is organised into six separate research centres which, though complementary and following the Institute strategic plan, also have Centre-specific objectives and requirements.

The post-holder will work in the Centre for Evaluation and Methods (CEM), a thriving centre that incorporates collaborative units who work to deliver outstanding research based on their combined and complementary strengths. The post-holder will contribute in particular to long-term follow-up studies in the fields of breast and prostate cancer prevention, within the Barts Clinical Trials Unit.
