The starting salary will be from £34,610 on Grade E, depending on knowledge, skills and experience.

The Role
 

Faculty of Humanities, Arts and Social Sciences
 
The Faculty wishes to recruit a Postdoctoral Research Associate to support the work of Prof Fabrizio Nevola.
 
Digital Humanities 3D Developer with expertise in 3D modelling (particularly in Blender, and a familiarity with H-BIM), photogrammetry, immersive design and visualization applied to cultural heritage/humanities research contexts. The postholder will participate in the activities of ‘Serious 3D in Art and Architectural History (Acronym: SERIOUS3D): Object oriented research methods in the light of Historic Building Information Modelling and Linked Open Data Technologies’, a project funded by the AHRC and DFG. The postholder will work on the digital reconstruction of the Palazzo Medici (Florence) in collaboration with other members of the project team, and support the linking of research data to the 3D model. Applicants should have a background in Cultural Heritage Informatics and have experience in semantic web technologies and standards (RDF, SPARQL, OWL), including data modeling and transformation, preferably with the CIDOC-CRM and related ontologies. Software development experience in Java and web application development (Javascript, HTML5 etc.) highly preferred.
  
About You
 

The successful applicant will be able to present information on research progress and outcomes, communicate complex information, orally, in writing and electronically and prepare proposals and applications to external bodies.
 
Applicants will possess a relevant PhD or possess an equivalent qualification/experience in a related field of study and be able to demonstrate sufficient knowledge in the discipline and of research methods and techniques to work within established research programmes. Applicants will have expertise in 3D modelling (particularly in Blender, and a familiarity with H-BIM), photogrammetry, immersive design and visualization applied to cultural heritage/humanities research contexts.
