About the role

We are looking for Teaching Fellows to join the School of Computing and Mathematical Sciences at the University of Leicester. In this role, you will deliver excellent teaching across undergraduate and postgraduate programmes in areas including Computer Science, Software Engineering, Cyber Security and Artificial Intelligence. You will give lectures, tutorials and other classes, supervise student projects, develop and update course materials, mark assessments and examinations, and provide constructive feedback. You will also act as a personal tutor, supporting students with academic and pastoral matters while helping to sustain a positive and student-centred learning environment.

You will contribute to course reviews, curriculum development and teaching quality assurance, as well as taking part in School meetings, committees and working groups. You will share effective teaching practice, undertake continuous professional development and work towards Fellowship of the Higher Education Academy. The School provides a welcoming academic environment for students studying mathematics and computer science, combining active research and extensive industry experience with the delivery of innovative courses.

About you

You will have achieved, or expect to achieve, a PhD by October 2026, or possess equivalent industry experience in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Cyber Security, Artificial Intelligence or a related area. You will have experience of supporting high-quality teaching and the ability to teach and supervise undergraduate and postgraduate students in core and applied areas of computer science and information security. Experience of developing and delivering lectures, assessments, tutorials and laboratory sessions, or working with digital learning environments such as Blackboard or Moodle, would be advantageous.

You will be able to communicate effectively  with students and colleagues and bring strong written, oral, presentation, training and interpersonal skills. Able to work independently and collaboratively, you will be flexible, organised and enthusiastic about new challenges, with the ability or potential to develop curricula and build productive relationships with students and teaching colleagues.
