Annual Leave: 35 days pro rata plus standard public holidays and an additional 4 days including the closure of our office between Christmas and New Year

Location: College Lane Campus, Hatfield

Main duties and responsibilities

The main responsibilities and duties include leading, contributing to and developing modules on the Graphic Design and Illustration programme, with a particular emphasis on modules within the BA (Hons) Graphic Design and BA (Hons) Graphic Design: Advertising and Branding awards.

You will have a good knowledge and understanding of current learning and teaching methods which relate to these subject areas and you will develop and implement teaching and learning materials of a high standard which explore contemporary practice, debates, ethical issues, historical perspectives and theoretical approaches to Graphic Design, Advertising and Branding.

Skills and experience required

The successful candidate will have excellent knowledge and understanding of contemporary studio practice in graphic design, branding and/or advertising.

You will possess sufficient breadth or depth of specialist knowledge in the discipline of the histories, theories, debates and issues relating to contemporary practice and will have the ability to teach technical contemporary graphic design skills including typography and layout.

You will be able to demonstrate an ability to develop and implement a broad and stimulating curriculum; be able to relate to a diverse student group. Proficiency in English language alongside excellent written and verbal communication skills, and an ability to communicate effectively with students and colleagues is essential for this role.

Qualifications required

The position requires a minimum of an undergraduate degree or equivalent Level 6 qualification in relevant discipline, or equivalent experience.
