Lecturer (Fashion Marketing)

Do you have a passion for fashion marketing and a genuine enthusiasm for helping students develop their ideas, confidence and skills?

We're looking for a Lecturer in Fashion Marketing to join our friendly and ambitious team at the Manchester Fashion Institute.

This is an exciting opportunity to bring your knowledge, experience and ideas to a subject that is constantly evolving. You'll help shape an engaging and relevant learning experience for our students, while contributing to the wider academic community at Manchester Metropolitan University.

What you'll do

You'll teach and support students across our undergraduate and postgraduate programmes, sharing your expertise in areas such as fashion marketing, branding, consumer behaviour, digital marketing and emerging industry practice.

You'll bring the subject to life through engaging, research-informed teaching and real-world examples, helping students understand how marketing works within the wider fashion business.

You'll also:

• Develop and deliver teaching, assessment and supervision across our programmes.
• Support students through personal tutoring and pastoral support.
• Contribute to curriculum development and initiatives that improve the student experience and graduate outcomes.
• Bring contemporary perspectives to fashion marketing, including digital, inclusive and sustainable approaches.
• Work with colleagues and external partners to develop practice-based projects and opportunities for students.
• Contribute to scholarship, research and knowledge exchange within your area of expertise.
• Build relationships with industry and professional networks, helping to keep our teaching connected to the world our students will enter.
• Play an active part in the life of the Manchester Fashion Institute and our wider University community.

There will also be opportunities to develop your own academic and professional profile, take part in projects and initiatives, and contribute to the continued development of our Fashion Marketing provision.

About you

We're looking for someone who is knowledgeable, curious, collaborative and passionate about their subject.

You'll have experience of teaching or supporting student learning and a strong background in Fashion Marketing, with current knowledge of areas such as marketing strategy, branding, digital marketing, social media, data analytics and consumer behaviour.

You'll enjoy working with students from different backgrounds and be committed to creating an inclusive learning environment where everyone can feel supported and able to succeed.

You'll also be able to work collaboratively with colleagues and external partners, communicate confidently with different audiences and contribute positively to our academic community.

You'll have a good first degree and a PhD in a relevant discipline, or equivalent experience or qualifications. You'll also hold a recognised teaching qualification such as PGCE, Certificate of Education, PGCLTHE or Fellowship of the Higher Education Academy, or be willing to work towards FHEA within three years of joining us.
