Know what makes a university stand out to a prospective student?

UA92 was founded by the Class of ’92 and Lancaster University to do higher education differently. We’re passionate about making university accessible to people who may not always see higher education as being for them, and we want our student recruitment activity to reflect that.

We’re now looking for a Student Recruitment Officer to join our team.

This is a hands-on role for someone who enjoys meeting people, building relationships and getting out and about. You’ll work with prospective students, schools, colleges and community organisations, helping more people understand what UA92 is about and whether it could be the right place for them.

The role

You could be delivering a presentation in a college, running an event on campus, speaking to prospective students about their options or working with a community partner to reach people who might not otherwise consider university.

You’ll build relationships with schools, colleges and community organisations and help develop a strong pipeline of prospective students across our different intakes.

There’s also an important follow-up side to the role. You’ll keep in touch with applicants through calls, emails, events and other engagement activity, helping people move from initial enquiry through to enrolment.

You’ll have the opportunity to try new ideas, look at different ways of reaching prospective students and use data to understand what is working. That might include digital activity, community outreach, events.

What you’ll bring

You may have worked in student recruitment, outreach, widening participation or another student-facing role and now want to build your career in HE.

What matters is that you already have some experience of student recruitment, outreach or widening participation in a higher education environment, and understand how good engagement can influence someone’s decision about university.

You’ll be confident talking to different groups of people and comfortable delivering presentations, workshops or events. You’ll be organised enough to manage several things at once, happy taking ownership of your work and interested in working towards recruitment targets and seeing the impact of what you do.

Above all, you’ll care about the experience prospective students have with us. You’ll be approachable, curious and comfortable building relationships, and you’ll understand why widening access to higher education matters to UA92.

Salary: £28,500 – £30,000

Contract: Permanent

Hours: 37.5 hours per week
