Technical Coordinator Fashion

Central Saint Martins is internationally recognised as one of the world's leading centres for fashion education, creativity and innovation. As our new Technical Coordinator: Fashion, you will play a key role in supporting the technical delivery of our renowned Fashion programmes, helping students develop the practical skills, knowledge and confidence to realise ambitious creative work. 

Working closely with academic staff, technical teams and students, you will lead the day-to-day coordination of specialist fashion technical resources, workshops and facilities across garment and textile technologies. You will oversee technical operations, manage and develop technical staff, contribute to curriculum delivery, and ensure that our specialist environments support an exceptional student experience. 

This is an opportunity to combine your technical expertise, leadership skills and industry knowledge within a dynamic and collaborative creative environment. You will work alongside colleagues from across the College to help shape technical provision, explore emerging technologies and enhance the delivery of technical teaching and learning. 

As fashion continues to respond to the environmental and social challenges facing the industry, you will also have the opportunity to support the development of sustainable technical practices, helping students engage with responsible approaches to design, making and production. Your profile 

You will bring substantial professional experience and specialist knowledge in fashion, garment and/or textile technologies, supported by a relevant degree, equivalent qualification, or significant industry experience. 

You will be an organised and collaborative leader, capable of motivating and supporting technical teams, managing competing priorities, and building strong relationships across academic, technical, and operational areas. You will be committed to creating inclusive learning environments and delivering an outstanding student experience.

We are particularly interested in candidates who can demonstrate knowledge of, or a commitment to, responsible and sustainable fashion practices, including material selection, circular design, resource efficiency, and environmentally responsible workshop management.

Experience of teaching and learning within higher education, a teaching qualification such as a PGCert, and a track record of applying innovative approaches to teaching, learning, or professional practice would be advantageous.
