Web Projects Executive

We are looking for a Web Projects Executive to join our digital marketing function, driving improvement in the University's digital estate and playing a vital role in developing our websites and content management systems.  

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who wants to pursue a career in digital, in particular within the product management career pathway. 

In the role, you will: 

• Support the ongoing development of our web estate through the entire product life cycle; scoping requirements, liaising with developers, managing the sprint process, and testing prior to release 
• Work with key stakeholders, content owners and technical specialists to understand our web performance and develop new ideas to improve the user experience 
• Undertake day-to-day tasks and administration such as supporting colleagues with queries, administering the content management system, and working with colleagues who own individual websites 
• Support team-wide initiatives such as user research or major revamps of content 
• Manage relationships with partner agencies

About you

Above all you'll be a passionate advocate for digital and its ability to support transformation and innovation. Ideally you'll already be working in the digital space, maybe already on the digital product management track, or working in account management with an agency, or be a technical specialist looking for a change of role.  

You will need to show us you: 

• Have an understanding of the skills and disciplines essential for product management, including agile methodologies, stakeholder engagement and supporting the development and prioritisation of product backlogs 
• Can effectively manage competing priorities to deliver outcomes in agreed timescales 
• Can work with a wide variety of stakeholders to shape business requirements which translate into a product roadmap and backlog 
• Understand user-centred design, the tools and the approaches which enable an organisation to develop a digital estate which is grounded in user needs 
• Are comfortable analysing data and user feedback to identify opportunities for improvement  
• Can work effectively with technical specialists, translating business and user needs into work packets

About the team

You will join a specialist digital team in the central marketing department. The role will work closely with a number of teams across the University. We're ambitious and driven, open to ideas and above all want to help the University and its stakeholders succeed through digital best practice. 

We lead the in-house digital marketing service, developing the University's web estate, working on a wide range of diverse campaigns and producing outstanding content. You'll work closely, not only with colleagues in creative, digital and marketing, but with others specialising in international or research marketing. Our work plays a key part in engaging with our many audiences, so helping the University achieve its objectives. 

This is currently a hybrid role, working between our campus in central Manchester and home.
