The role

Newcastle Law School seeks to appoint a Senior Lecturer in Criminology and Criminal Justice to support the design and delivery of our new Law with Criminology LLB.

We are looking for a passionate researcher and educator. You should have an established national/international research profile in the area of criminology/criminal justice broadly defined and a clear research trajectory that shows potential for engaging with the research funding landscape and/or delivering real world impact and benefit through your research. Sustained teaching experience in criminology and law adjacent criminal justice modules is essential. The successful candidate will be expected to lead on the development and delivery of an ‘Introduction to Criminal Justice' module, deliver a capstone module titled ‘Criminology, Law and Policy' and contribute to other areas of undergraduate/postgraduate teaching. Experience of working with external stakeholders to enhance the educational offer or a history of pro-bono or community engagement work is highly desirable.
