Research Nurse (Fixed Term)

The UK Hub for Predictive and AI-Enabled Human Disease Models is a UK national research initiative funded by the MRC, which will translate academic New Approach Methodologies (NAMs) into validated, industry-ready systems. The Hub brings together leading scientists, clinicians and commercial organisations to drive advances for national benefit. The Hub is based in the Cambridge Stem Cell Institute (CSCI).

The role of Research Nurse will be integral to a Hub team established to accelerate the development, validation and adoption of predictive human disease models for biomedical research, drug discovery and experimental medicine.

We are looking for an enthusiastic individual with the drive and initiative to work across the diverse responsibilities of the role, that will include supporting clinic patients, recruiting research participants, working closely with nursing/medical/surgical and research teams and interacting with Hub teams from around the UK. The role will also be involved in Patient & Public Involvement & Engagement (PPIE) activities.

The role holder will work between the University and Cambridge University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust and hold an Honorary Contract with the NHS Trust.

The successful candidate will hold a first degree in a relevant discipline, and have a current NMC registration, for nursing or midwifery. They will have experience of Good Clinical Practice (GCP) principles and an understanding and communicating research themes to potential donors. They will be comfortable operating in a fast-paced academic environment and able to engage effectively with a wide range of stakeholders including researchers, patients and families, clinicians, funders, and external partners.

This is an opportunity to contribute directly to a programme aiming to transform outcomes for patients. The role offers significant scope to shape how a research centre operates, connects, and grows, both within Cambridge and internationally.

Full-time (1.0 FTE; change to part time and flexible working arrangements available);

Fixed term until 31 March 2030 (in the first instance)
