Research Assistant

About the Role

You will join the laboratory of Dr Alexiane Decout in the Clinical Science Research Laboratory, Biomedical Sciences Directorate at Warwick Medical School to work on host pathogen interactions and innate immunity. The Decout laboratory focuses on understanding the role of host-microbiota and host pathogens interactions, with a focus on innate immune interactions in women's reproductive health. This project is in collaboration with Prof. Darius Armstrong-James (Imperial College London) and focuses on host-fungi innate immune interactions.

About You

You will have a BSc/MSc degree in Biological Sciences or equivalent. You will have demonstrated experience in women's reproductive health and immunology and experience in the majority of the following techniques; cell culture, ELISA, immunohistochemistry, immunofluorescence, flow cytometry. You previously worked with human clinical samples.

About the Department

We offer an outstanding interdisciplinary environment for discovery science in one of the best universities in the UK. You will be based in the Clinical Science Research Building at the University Hospital Coventry and Warwickshire.

The post holder will also join Warwick Biomedical Sciences (BMS). Areas of research excellence in BMS focus on quantitative molecular, cell and developmental biology, host-pathogen interactions and human reproduction.
