Trial Manager (Exeter Clinical Trials Unit)

This full-time post is available immediately on a fixed term basis to cover a maternity until 31 October 2027. 

The starting salary will be from £43,482 on Grade F, depending on knowledge, skills and experience. 

Hybrid working arrangements and part time working of 80% FTE or greater will be considered.

The Role

Exeter Clinical Trials Unit (ExeCTU) wishes to recruit an experienced Trial Manager to manage one or more clinical trial projects. Homed within the University’s medical school, ExeCTU is a fully registered member of UK Registered CTU Network which provides specialist expertise in the design, execution, analysis, and publication of clinical trials and other studies that assess the efficacy and effectiveness of clinical therapies and treatments.

The Trial Manager occupies a pivotal role in the CTU, leading and coordinating the delivery of high quality clinical research from set up to close out, ensuring scientific integrity, regulatory compliance, operational excellence, and a positive experience for participants, investigators, sponsors, and research partners. The Trial Manager will become part of a highly functioning multidisciplinary CTU team and will contribute to the continuous improvement of CTU systems, processes, and working practices, sharing expertise and supporting initiatives that strengthen the quality, efficiency, and sustainability of the wider research portfolio.

About You

Suitable candidates must demonstrate that they have extensive recent experience of managing clinical trials or other types of health research projects in a GCP environment, throughout the full lifecycle from set-up through to archiving. Experience of both regulated and non-regulated trials is desirable.
