Deputy Head of Department

University College Birmingham is seeking an experienced and motivated academic leader to join the Department of Health, Nutrition and Exercise Sciences as Deputy Head of Department.

This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in the leadership and operational management of a dynamic academic department. Working closely with the Head of Department, you will help shape and deliver strategic priorities, support curriculum enhancement, drive high-quality learning and teaching, and contribute to an outstanding student and staff experience.

The successful candidate will bring strong experience of programme leadership in higher education, excellent people management skills, and the ability to lead teams with confidence, clarity and ambition. You will also have a strong understanding of academic quality, curriculum development and professional body requirements within health, nutrition, exercise science or a related discipline.

We are looking for someone who can inspire colleagues, support innovation, manage resources effectively and represent the Department internally and externally.
