Clinical Fellowships (Fully Funded)

The Francis Crick Institute invites applications for its Clinical Fellowships, offering talented clinicians the opportunity to pursue cutting-edge biomedical research in a world-class research environment.

We are currently recruiting to two fellowship programmes:

Doctoral Clinical Fellowships:

This fully funded three-year PhD programme offers talented clinicians the opportunity to pursue biomedical discovery research and develop the skills needed for a clinical academic career. 

AI and Machine Learning Clinical Fellowships:

This fully funded programme combines one year of MSc-level training in AI and machine learning, followed by either a three-year discovery-led PhD programme or two years of postdoctoral research. It offers clinicians the opportunity to gain formal training in AI and machine learning before applying these approaches to cutting-edge biomedical research at the Crick. 

The Research Environment:

Fellows at the Crick benefit from well-resourced research labs, state-of-the-art science technology platforms, an extensive seminar programme, comprehensive training and career development activities, and a supportive and stimulating research environment.

All fellows are supported by a Crick primary supervisor, a secondary supervisor from one of the Crick’s partner universities, and a clinical academic mentor. 

Funding:

The fellowships are fully funded and cover salary, tuition fees and research costs. Successful candidates will receive a salary commensurate with their current clinical experience and stage of training, up to but not including NHS consultant level. 

Eligibility:

We welcome applications from talented and motivated clinicians who are passionate about research, have a strong academic track record and hold GMC registration or equivalent.

For the AI and Machine Learning Clinical Fellowships, applicants must also be eligible for UK home fee status.
