China Agricultural University (CAU) is a leading university located in Beijing with a history of over 120 years. Founded in 1994, the International College Beijing (ICB) is one of the 19 colleges of CAU. ICB is a pioneer in the field of international education among Chinese education institutions. Under the collaboration with US and UK universities for more than 30 years, the American or British curriculum, teaching methods, and textbooks are adopted from the US and UK to ICB. The program has been accredited by NCA in the US and QAA in the UK. Being a college with English as the teaching language, there are 1,100 undergraduate students taught by over 70 full-time international faculty in the college in this academic year. Subjects offered in ICB cover a wide range of studies including Economics, Communication, Agribusiness, International Finance, Business Administration, etc.

Job Description:

This is a full-time teaching position to teach Composition related courses to undergraduate students.

Class size: 25 - 35 students

Teaching facilities and materials: multimedia classrooms, English textbooks and reference materials

Begin date of next Fall semester: September, 2027. 

Responsibilities:

• Teach two to four courses per year in Composition I,Composition II g, etc. on the east campus of CAU
• Advise and mentor students
• Participate in college activities 

Requirement:

• A Ph.D or Master degree in English (Rhetoric & Composition), or a closely related discipline, received from reputable universities
• At least two years of college-level teaching experience
• Fluent English capacity
• English teaching certification, e.g. TEFL, CELTA, OR TESOL
• Open to cultural differences
• Good communication skills 

Compensation and Benefits:

• £30,000-£40,000 (before tax) per year commensurate with rank, background and experience, in accordance with teaching hours and working load.
