Are you an inspiring educator that could contribute to teaching and delivering clinical placements in emergency medicine, acute and critical across our year 5 undergraduate medical programme? If yes, then this role may be ideal.

Kent and Medway Medical School is seeking an experienced healthcare professional and educator to lead this aspect of the year 5 undergraduate medicine programme. You will also work on the campus sites of both the partner universities in Canterbury and Medway, and will conduct extensive liaison work with placement providers based across Kent and Medway. You will have a specific interest in medical education, and be in current clinical practice. You should have contemporary expertise in curriculum design, delivery and evaluation in undergraduate clinical healthcare and/or medical education.

As a Senior Lecturer Year 5 Speciality Lead in Emergency Medicine, Acute Care and Critical Care you can expect to be involved in:

• Using experience of clinical practice, delivering, contributing to the design of high-quality, demand-driven, and student-centred taught programmes
• Contributing to the delivering, organising and reviewing of the teaching within the BM BS programme
• Using experience of current clinical practice, engaging in quality assurance activity including site visits, reviewing feedback from both students and placement faculty and evaluating pertinent assessment data

What will you bring to the role?

• A primary medical qualification, full registration with the GMC, a current licence to practise
• In current clinical practice within NHS and commitment to remain in clinical practice for the duration of the KMMS contract
• Post graduate teaching qualification (e.g. Grad Cert) or Membership or Fellowship of the HEA or AoME or equivalent / or willingness to obtain
