This post is for a Project Coordinator within the Stone Research Group and primarily responsible for the management and coordination of William Stone’s Coefficient Giving funded project ‘Targeting school-aged children to deplete the infectious reservoir (TACTIC)’.
The TACTIC project will evaluate the impact of enhanced and novel chemoprevention strategies in school-age children, to reduce all age malaria burden. It will involve two cluster randomised trials in Burkina Faso during Malaria transmission season. This research is led by a multi-disciplinary consortium from LSHTM, GRAS (Burkina Faso), IDRC (Uganda), LSTM (UK), and RUMC (Netherlands), and aims to shape policy, optimise malaria prevention, and support future chemopreventive & transmission-blocking interventions.
In addition to TACTIC, the project coordinator will support other projects within the Stone and Drakeley Group, as needed. They will support group-wide travel arrangements, contract extensions, staff reimbursements, invoice payments and credit card reconciliations.
The post-holder will be a member of the department administration team and be accountable to the Principal Investigators within the department.
The post-holder will be responsible for providing efficient administrative, logistical and financial support from set up to closure; a portfolio of research projects which may have multiple overseas collaborators or complex funder requirements. The post-holder will develop a good understanding of the funder terms and conditions for the project(s) providing sound advice and ensuring compliance to these and the school policies and procedures, including the Financial Regulations. They should have experience arranging travel and accommodation and processing staff reimbursements. Further particulars are included in the job description.
The post is full-time 35 hours per week, 1.0 FTE and fixed term until 30 September 2027. This role has possibility of extension, depending on funding. The post is funded by Medicines for Malaria Venture (MMV) and Coefficient Giving and is available immediately.
The salary will be on the LSHTM salary scale, Grade 5 in the range £39,984 - £45,728 per annum pro rata (inclusive of London Weighting). The post will be subject to the LSHTM terms and conditions of service. Annual leave entitlement is 30 working days per year, pro rata for part time staff. In addition to this there are discretionary “Wellbeing Days”. Membership of the Pension Scheme is available. The post is based in London at LSHTM.
