About the Role
The Department of Education, in association with Green Templeton College, is seeking to appoint a full-time Associate Professor in Education Assessment. The appointment will be confirmed as permanent upon successful completion of a review during the first five years.
The post will be available from January 2026 or as soon as possible thereafter. The appointment is associated with a Fellowship at Green Templeton College; further details of the Fellowship are provided in the Further Particulars.
The successful candidate will conduct internationally leading research in educational assessment, including attracting externally funded projects in this area. They will contribute to the Department’s research profile through high-quality publications, research impact and research funding, and will play a leading role in the Oxford University Centre for Educational Assessment (OUCEA), whose research bridges theory, policy and practice.
You will contribute to teaching, supervision and examining on the MSc in Educational Assessment; develop and lead international research in educational assessment; and supervise DPhil students and attract applicants in this research area. You will also contribute to the academic and pastoral life of Green Templeton College, including its access and outreach activities and, as appropriate, acting as a College Adviser for graduate students.
Candidates should have:
A research focus on AI or learning analytics and educational assessment, expertise in research methodologies and analytical strategies common in educational assessment, and an interest in multi-disciplinary collaboration would be desirable.
