We are seeking to appoint a committed academic to lead our sector-leading BA Games Art & Design course. The post offers an exciting opportunity to continue development of a future focused and critically engaged curriculum, working with colleagues across disciplines to collaborate through teaching and research.
The postholder will work closely with the Director of Digital Arts, Computing and Games and other Course Leaders in the programme area. The role includes leadership, management and promotion of the Games Art & Design course; close collaboration with BA (Hons) Games Development course, teaching across the programme according to specialist knowledge, and advancing pedagogy, research and knowledge exchange in the subject area.
You will be an experienced academic leader with the vision, insight, commitment and skills to further develop, deliver and promote Norwich’s Games Art and Design provision. You will have substantial knowledge of the national and international games sector, alongside specialist subject expertise in the creation of art for games, particularly in Concept Art and/or Asset Production. You will be able demonstrate sustained engagement as a practitioner, researcher and/or industry professional. You will have a strong network of key partners and contemporary industry contacts, and the ability to develop and deliver significant collaborative projects, and to explore and enhance employability and career opportunities for the students.
The successful applicant will be an excellent teacher who puts inclusivity at the heart of their practice. You will be an advocate for your discipline, promoting the courses to prospective students and teachers, both at home and internationally. You will have the ability to work closely with a variety of internal and external stakeholders, bringing diverse voices into our student experience and ensuring the support we give our students is culturally competent. You will have the ambition to equip students with the social and cultural capital that will allow them to confidently grasp graduate-level opportunities and challenges.
The successful applicant will demonstrate excellent skills in organisation, management, team building and evidence of enhancing student educational experience and outcomes. A collaborative and collegiate approach to leadership and teamworking is an essential attribute for this role. Salary: From £53,000 to £60,000 per annum
Working Hours: No less than 35 hours per week for 52 weeks per year
