Royal Holloway Law School invites applications from outstanding candidates for the position of Professor of Law (Teaching and Research).
Royal Holloway Law School is an ambitious and growing law school with a strong reputation for interdisciplinary scholarship, social purpose, and research-informed education. Having experienced sustained growth in student recruitment, academic staffing and educational provision, the School is entering an exciting new phase of development. Significant initiatives planned for 2027/28 include the launch of a new LLM programme and the introduction of an Accelerated LLB to be delivered in Central London. These developments reflect our commitment to innovation, student opportunity, and engagement with the legal profession and wider society.
As we continue this upward trajectory, the School is investing strategically in research excellence. A key aspiration is the development of a distinct and successful law submission for REF2029, alongside the strengthening of our research culture, external engagement, impact, and research income.
We seek an internationally recognised scholar of significant standing who will provide intellectual and strategic leadership across the Law School. The successful candidate will play a leading role in strengthening our research culture, leading on externally funded research and impact activity, supporting our ambition for a law REF submission, mentoring colleagues across all career stages, and enhancing the School's national and international reputation.
Applications are invited from outstanding scholars whose research addresses contemporary legal challenges at the intersection of markets, business, regulation and society. Areas of particular interest in this context include, but are not limited to:

They will contribute to teaching and doctoral supervision, support the development of the School's undergraduate and postgraduate programmes, and play a significant role in shaping the future direction of Royal Holloway Law School.
This is an exceptional opportunity to join a Law School with a clear sense of purpose, ambitious plans for growth, and a commitment to making a distinctive contribution to legal scholarship, education, and societal impact in the UK and beyond.
