Marketing Officer (Future Students)

Manchester Metropolitan University – External Relations

At Manchester Met, we are ambitious, inclusive and focused on impact. We work collaboratively as one University to tell clear, engaging stories, build a strong reputation and support students to transform their lives. Together, we are shaping futures locally and globally.

It is an exciting time to join us. We have been named Modern University of the Year for the second consecutive year, recognised as an Outstanding Workplace, and ranked the number one sustainable university for a record‑breaking fourth year. Our commitment to people, progress and purpose shapes how we work and what we deliver.

We are now recruiting for three Marketing Officer positions in the Future Students Marketing team:

  • x2 Marketing Officer (Permanent) - supporting undergraduate and postgraduate student recruitment for the Faculty of Health and Education.
  • x1 Marketing Officer (12-month fixed-term contract) - supporting postgraduate student recruitment for the Faculty of Science and Engineering.

You will work closely with colleagues across External Relations and the Faculty supporting undergraduate and postgraduate recruitment through targeted, insight‑led marketing activity in a competitive environment.

The roles offer the opportunity to develop subject‑aligned marketing expertise, collaborate with academic and professional services colleagues, and contribute across the full recruitment journey. Your work will support University priorities by helping prospective students understand their options and see themselves at Manchester Met.

The teams follow a hybrid working pattern, with an expectation of two days per week on campus (typically Tuesday and Wednesday) and the remainder working from home, with occasional additional campus attendance required for meetings and out of hours working for events.

What you'll do

Working with the Marketing Manager for either the Faculty of Science and Engineering or Faculty of Health and Education, you will plan and deliver recruitment marketing that supports the Future Students strategy and faculty objectives.

You will:

  • Plan and deliver strategic and tactical marketing activity for either undergraduate or postgraduate recruitment in the Faculty.
  • Manage a varied subject portfolio and create content that supports applicants at different stages of the recruitment journey.
  • Lead marketing campaigns and projects, coordinating activity across teams and channels.
  • Deliver and manage digital marketing activity, including PPC and display advertising.
  • Produce high‑quality, audience‑focused content for digital and offline channels, ensuring brand, accessibility and quality standards are met.
  • Manage and update sections of the University website using the CMS to improve usability and performance.
  • Support recruitment events and conversion activity in collaboration with faculty and Future Students colleagues.
  • Use insight, data and reporting to evaluate activity and inform future planning.
  • Act as a brand champion, ensuring consistent, accurate and compliant use of the Manchester Met brand.

Who we're looking for
We are looking for a proactive marketing professional who enjoys working in a complex, fast‑paced environment and building effective working relationships.

You will bring:

  • Professional marketing experience, ideally within a large or complex organisation.
  • Experience delivering integrated marketing campaigns across digital and offline channels.
  • Strong copywriting, content creation and editorial skills.
  • Experience using paid and organic digital marketing tactics.
  • Confidence working with data, insight and reporting to demonstrate impact and inform decisions.
  • Strong organisational and project management skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities.
  • A collaborative approach and experience working with academic and professional services colleagues.

You will be curious, solutions‑focused and committed to delivering high‑quality marketing that supports prospective students to make informed choices.
