The New School of Psychotherapy and Counselling (NSPC) is looking for an organised and confident Senior Assistant Academic Registrar to join our registry team for approximately 15 months, covering maternity leave.
NSPC is a small, friendly postgraduate school based at the Existential Academy in West Hampstead, London. We offer doctoral, masters and professional training programmes in psychotherapy, counselling psychology, coaching, pastoral care, autism and neurodivergence, delivered in academic partnership with Middlesex University.
This is a varied role at the heart of our academic administration. You will organise and chair early stage progression vivas for doctoral students, and take minutes for our ethics boards. You will also support students through the ethics process and coordinate student complaint and disciplinary hearings. Alongside this, you will look after our online learning environment: setting up Moodle units each term, registering tutors and students, and arranging Zoom sessions for teaching and supervision.
We are looking for someone with experience of administration in higher education or a similar academic setting. You should be confident taking accurate minutes, chairing meetings and using Moodle or a similar platform. Above all, we want someone courteous and helpful who enjoys being part of a small, busy team.
Contract: Full time, fixed term for approximately 15 months, starting December 2026 or as soon as possible after that.
Salary: Grade 5, £34,827 to £37,357, depending on experience.
Location: In person at the Existential Academy, West Hampstead.
To apply, please send your CV and a personal statement of no more than two sides of A4 via the 'Apply' button above (E: agnieszka@nspc.org.uk). Please see the attached job description and person specification for full details. For an informal conversation about the role, please contact Dr Jo Molle, Academic Manager, at jo@nspc.org.uk.
Closing date: Monday 26 October 2026, 12 noon
Interviews: Wednesday 11 November 2026, in person
We review applications as they come in and may close the advert early, so please apply as soon as you can. Applicants must have the right to work in the UK. NSPC welcomes applications from people of all backgrounds.
