Do you enjoy turning complex ideas into clear, engaging stories that help people understand what’s changing and why it matters? We have an exciting opportunity to join us as a Sustainability Communications & Engagement Officer, supporting sustainability and estates communications at the University of Sheffield.
About the role
You will play a key role in supporting the day-to-day communications and engagement activity that underpins the University’s Environmental Sustainability Strategy and wider estates projects. Working as part of the Sustainability and Estates Communications team, you will help staff and students understand sustainability priorities, see progress being made across campus, and engage with initiatives that support positive change.
This is a varied and collaborative role that sits at the intersection of sustainability, communications and engagement. You will work closely with colleagues across Estates and Facilities Management, Corporate Communications, academic departments and the Students’ Union, helping to ensure sustainability-related activity is communicated clearly, consistently and accessibly.

You will join the Sustainability Communications & Engagement team which works as part of a wider team of sustainability, energy and environmental professionals within Estates and Facilities Management. The team works across the University to support sustainability strategy delivery, estates communications and engagement, helping to connect strategic priorities with day-to-day activity on campus. You’ll be part of a supportive, friendly team with a strong sense of purpose and opportunities to develop your skills.
