About the Role
For informal enquiries please contact Professor Siddartha Khastgir via S.Khastgir.1@warwick.ac.uk
This is an exciting opportunity for you to develop your own career and profile by supporting the work of WMG and its partners in areas of Human-AI teaming, in application domains such as autonomous transport, robotics, Agritech, health technology (including wearables, prosthetics), medical technology, amongst others.
A distinguishing aspect of this role is its focus on exploring how humans and AI agents work together as integrated teams, not merely tools and users, but genuine collaborators that share situational awareness, allocate tasks dynamically, build mutual models of each other's capabilities and intentions, and adapt together over time.
In this newly established academic role within the Safe Autonomy Research Group, you will lead research, teaching and administration in addition to providing innovative solutions to complex industrial problems by creating a bridge between WMG and interested parties.
About You
You will hold a PhD and have already demonstrated both excellence and independence in research along with an ability to contribute to effective teaching. You will have a track record of internationally recognised publications in leading Cognitive Science, Human Factors, Applied AI or Product design venues, and have expertise in one of more application areas such as human-AI interaction, human-AI teaming, multi-agent systems, Cognitive Psychology, physiological instrumentation, eye-tracking, or field-based observation.
We are seeking candidates who can make a strong contribution to both our research and our teaching, and who will make the most of the opportunities provided by our lively and vibrant departmental culture.
We will be appointing at either Assistant or Associate Professor level depending on applicant experience.
