The Role
We are seeking an enthusiastic Lecturer/Senior Lecturer in Clinical Pharmacy (with focus on clinical pharmacology and therapeutics) to join the Department of Pharmacy at Kingston University London. You will contribute to the educational and research activities of the department. Taught courses in the Department include the MPharm (including preparatory year) and the MSc in Advanced Pharmaceutics and Public Health.
Teaching responsibilities in this role will focus on pharmacology although other topics in clinical pharmacy and pharmacy practice may need to be covered too. In this role you will plan, develop, and deliver high-quality, inclusive and innovative teaching and assessments in collaboration with colleagues.
You will be expected to develop, sustain and implement a progressive research plan to contribute to the relevant Unit of Assessment output in the forthcoming REF, both as journal outputs on a 3*/4* REF level and/or impact case studies.
The role will include some administrative responsibilities and the supervision of undergraduate and postgraduate research projects.
The Person
You will have a first degree in Pharmacy, and ideally, a PhD, especially in Pharmacology. Teaching experience is highly desirable. UK-registered pharmacists will be given priority for clinical practice coverage. Students at Kingston University come from a broad range of backgrounds and educational experiences and the person undertaking this position will play a key role in allowing such students to realise their potential.
Applicants will be required to demonstrate that they meet the Kingston University standards in learning and teaching, and research. By the end of the probation period, you must have achieved the relevant level of UKPSF recognition, which is fellowship of Higher Education Academy or FHEA. The University will support this effort via our accredited Introduction to Learning and Teaching (ILT) or Kingston Academic Practice Standards (KAPS) framework.
We welcome passionate educators that can equip students with real-world skills and contribute to Kingston University’s vision to remain firmly at the forefront of embedding Future Skills in the curriculum to prepare graduates for career success. You will contribute to the tutor scheme, offering pastoral support to students and helping them develop their academic and professional skills.
